2015 Beta Sign Ups

Most people will already have their own beta reader, but hey, maybe they want to try someone new. A beta reader is a person who reads another person's written work with a critical eye, with the aim of improving grammar, spelling, characterization, and general style of a story before the author posts it up. All participants must get their fiction beta’d by at least one person.
Beta volunteer: Can we get some lovely volunteers to help our writers out? Betas are love, so comment below with the following text! Comments are unscreened.
Need a beta: If you are in need of a beta, then drop a note or just directly contact someone that volunteers below by replying to their comments.

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: Canonical or at least canonically-implied pairings for...a lot of things, really, but especially the MCU, Whoniverse, anything Whedon-related, anything with Mike Schur's name on it, and the West Wing
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? Noncon/dubcon, anything that became canon in Age of Ultron, Spuffy
What are your strengths as a beta reader? Grammar nazi, good ear for voices, encyclopedia fandom memory
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? A week or two, depending on length and how real life is interfering
Also, mod: the picture at the top of the post isn't working.

In the meantime, it appears I have a mystery to solve! :)
Thanks for letting me know!!

FWIW, I have mod access to the community (from when IR transferred everything het-reccers-related over to me last year, although y'all can remove me if you want), so it's not an LJ privacy setting thing. I think.

Thanks again!!

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: I have no preferences
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? fic involving gratuitous child/animal abuse, or incestuous pairings
What are your strengths as a beta reader? SPaG, style, readability
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? Depends on the size of the work, but for a BB, a week to ten days, probably - I can beta in batches if the work isn't finished.

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: Outlander, 9th/10th/11th Doctor-era Doctor Who, a bunch of sitcom fandoms (just ask!), Daredevil, general MCU (particularly Steve/Darcy), Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Tangled, Pride and Prejudice, Veronica Mars
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? Cool with anything.
What are your strengths as a beta reader? Spelling/grammar, characterization, overall story structure
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? It depends on how long the story is - for a 10k story, a couple to four-ish days, a full big bang fic - a week or two.

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: MCU, any het except genderbending, Clint/Natasha, or Bucky/Natasha. Pretty much anything else is more than welcome, including same-gen incest (bring on the Pietro/Wanda). I've kept up with every MCU property, including all the shows.
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? 100% pure PWP, probably, but any rating is fine.
What are your strengths as a beta reader? Good with grammar, would like to think I'm good with characterization and assessing other people's plot (though not at writing it myself)
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? Depends on the length, but my summer will be pretty free. A few days for a little bang; a week or more for a big bang (depending on how long it ends up).

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: Whedonverse, Arrowverse, Star Trek (TOS/TNG/VGR/DS9/ENT), Stargate SG1/A, Teen Wolf, Vampire Diaries, HP, Veronica Mars, POI, I dunno, check here (http://afulldeck.livejournal.com/9750.html) and here (http://janeways-socks.tumblr.com/my_fandoms) for a better list.
Also, if you know I'm in a fandom I didn't list here, I'll probably beta it.
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? self harm/suicide, incest. I'd prefer not to read non-con, but I can beta the rest of a fic containing it, just not those scenes.
What are your strengths as a beta reader? story/plot flow, characterization, SPaG, Canada-pic
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? probably a week or two (probably less).

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: of the sign up fandoms, I feel most comfortable with The Librarians, Doctor Who, OUAT, TNG, and Haven. I can beta anything, but be aware I might not be able to check your characterizations for characters I don't know that well.
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? I don't like incest, non consent, or excessive violence. I don't write smut, so I may not be the best beta for that either, though I'm willing to give it a try. Nothing with torture or abuse, especially of animals.
What are your strengths as a beta reader? My biggest strength is grammar. I'm also good at flow and structure and overall feel. Those are my biggest strengths, but I can pretty much do it all. Characterization, plotholes, whatever you need me to look at. I've been writing for about 27 years, I majored in English in University, and one of the aspects of my job is to proofread student papers.
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? If I'm finished my own bang, it will probably be a few days for a little bang and a week or so for a big bang. If I'm not done, it may take me longer. I am off for the summer, but I go back to work in the middle of August, so I'd prefer to have it done by then, if possible.

Preferred Fandoms/Pairings: OUaT, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, etc. If you don't need characterization I'm willing to beta anything.
Is there any type of fiction you would prefer to avoid beta'ing? Just incest and May-December romances, really.
What are your strengths as a beta reader? SPaG, plot, pacing, I can bounce ideas back and forth if you're stuck
What kind of turn around time can someone expect from you? Probably about 2-3 days per 10k words?
