HBB 2018 - Thoughts & Polls!

Hello all!!

Apologies for the radio silence on our end. For my part, I have had a super tough year in a very intense university program and I am just now getting back onto my feet a bit, post exams, et al. — hence the big delay in getting things rolling for HBB!

So on that note, I have a bunch of questions for you guys about the future of HBB. Please check out the polls HERE ON LJ (because I cannot seem to figure out how to post a poll on DW?!) - fill out the short survey, and leave all your comments (either on here or on LJ) so traycer_ and I can figure out how to proceed. :)

Thank you!!

Polls are a paid account feature on DW.

Would you like this year's HBB to...
- run on the same length of a schedule, just shifted to accommodate the delay
- postpone a few months and run on a different schedule for this year (this wouldn't be as good an option for me, but might be doable. I found Dec-Feb a bit of nightmare with fic challenges and had another bang on that time schedule last/this year that was... interesting to juggle, let's just say)

In terms of the platform, should we keep the Bang on LJ and DW, or move exclusively to DW?
- either of the DW inclusive options suit me. I probably wouldn't participate if it's off DW

Last year we had a record low of authors who actually crossed the finish line. Is there anything we could change or do to help bring that number up?
- I had to drop because of a poorly timed computer crash, so there's not much you could have done that would have altered things for me.

Lastly, the mods are considering either getting help in running the Bang or else passing the torch completely. Do you have time to commit and would you be interested in either scenario?
- sadly not (June->Feb is my busiest time of year exchange/fandom wise as is, so it's not well timed for me), but good luck finding new mods and if you have to bow out because of time pressures or skip a year I'm sure everyone will understand even if we're sad to see a bang disappear. RL comes first!

Thanks for this!! :D From the poll results, it looks like we are going to keep going with both communities which is nice because I'm partial to LJ and so many others prefer DW.

It will still be a good challenge. :) Hope you can make it this year!!

I'm just popping in here, too, to say that I can help out, though I don't think I can completely mod/co-mod. I'm happy to see the comm come back! :)

I responded over at the LJ comm, but thought I would reply here too just in case:

One of the biggest problems we have with DW is the fact that we can't post polls because we are not paid subscribers. Would you be willing to post the necessary polls for us at DW? That would be a tremendous help for our DW participants.

Thanks!

Absolutely! That would be totally simple and doable! :)
