I just wanted to say thank you for your patience as we wound down from the last round. We so enjoyed being able to do that for you.

With that being said, we're going to have to skip this next round. I hope we'll be back up and running for next time, but RL is just not giving us another option right now.

We will miss you and will definitely keep you updated on anything else.

Hello everyone! The 5th and final check-in is now closed and posting has begun! We’re looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to!

Date Claims are also officially closed, however, if you need to change your date, for any reason, please send an email to us at thehetbigbang@gmail.com, with the new date you’d like to post on. Just make sure to check the 2022 Posting Schedule, to find an open date!

Posting will run from October 16th through November 19th. November 20th-30th will be the Amnesty Period, which is for any author or fanworker to post their work, if they missed their posting date! Here are the 2022 Posting Guidelines.

Weekly Round Up will begin Sunday, October 23rd, and will take place each Sunday, with a list of works that have been posted for that week!

Do not post your work to the DreamWidth or LiveJournal comms! Posts are moderated on the comms and your post will be rejected. This is because mods are only checking the HetBang Ao3 Collection for works. We want there to be one centralized place to find works for everyone to enjoy!

Note About Support Comms: Mods will no longer be posting the weekly support posts in het_banghelp, to focus on posting, but members are still welcomed to make their own posts, if they need some extra help and support!

Mod LuciferxDamien will be out of town, October 19th-21st, so we will be down to one mod for a few days. If your work takes a day or two to be approved, don’t panic! It may not be because something is wrong, it’s likely because a mod is not available at that time. If there is something wrong with your work, you will be emailed ASAP, so you can correct it!

If you need to drop out, please let us know ASAP! The survey will be open through Saturday, October 15th, and will be closed Sunday morning, October 16th.

You must fill out the survey, even if you or your group has already claimed a date! Filling out the survey helps mods to see where everyone is at and to make sure everyone is still here!

Fanworkers, if you claimed more than one story, please follow the instructions in the form to indicate your progress per author, so that we can match your progress to the correct author!

If you are a Solo Author or a Tandem Author/Fanworker, there are no consequences for dropping out. If you are an author (both 5k Little Bang and 10k Big Bang) or fanworker that has been paired up via claims, we're past the safe drop out point and dropping out can result in a ban from the next round of HetBang. However, if something major happens (sickness, injury, accident, etc.) please just let us know and there will be no consequences for dropping out. Anyone that doesn't contact us will be banned, as we won't know about a situation unless we're told.

The most important thing when filling out the survey is to make sure you use the same email address that was used in your sign-up, so that we can check you off. If you do not remember which email you used to sign-up, a copy of the Google Survey should have been sent to you when you signed up. If you still cannot find it, please contact us and we will check on our end!

This is so we can keep things more organized and prevent confusion if dates are being claimed at the same time. Emailing us your date claims is also an option, just send an email to thehetbigbang@gmail.com with your top three date picks and we will let you know which dates you are successful on!

Just as a reminder, it can take a few hours for mods to respond, so date claim verification might be slow. We will do our best to stay on top of things and let people know which date they’ve successfully claimed!

Hello everyone! Now that we’re getting closer to posting, we’ve updated the het_banghelp activity list. Our weekly posts will now include fanworkers and the editing process!

Updated Support Comm Activities

As a reminder, our next check-in will be September 1st, and it will be mandatory for both authors and fanworkers. After that will be our final check-in on October 1st, which will also be when date claims open! Posting will begin October 16th and run through November 19th. November 20th-30th will be the Amnesty Period, which is for any author or fanworker to post their work, if they missed their posting date!

After the September check-in is closed, mods will make a determination on the maximum number of stories that can be posted per day, starting with at least 2 per day. This is to help spread stories out!

Starting this year, chaptered posting is allowed. Authors can start posting their works on October 16th, and they have until their chosen posting date to have their work posted in its entirety. Posting before Sunday, October 16th is not allowed. Authors choosing to post chapters separately do not need to claim additional dates, just a final posting date when they intend to post their last chapter. Authors do not need to inform mods of their intended posting schedule, mods will only be checking for completed works based on the date claims.

Example:
Author A has 4 chapters to post and wants to update their fic twice a week. Author A will need to select a final posting date about 2 weeks after posting begins. Author A wants to post chapter updates Sundays and Wednesdays, and starts posting their story October 16th, followed by the 19th and 23rd. October 26th is the date they need to claim and is the date that mods will be checking their work for completion.

Hello everyone! Today is the last day for story claims! We’ve got three 5k Little Bang stories that have not been claimed. While we cannot guarantee a match for the 5k Little Bang stories, we’d really like to have all stories claimed by tomorrow! Claiming will close no sooner than 10AM PDT, Sunday July 17th to give everyone ample time to claim!

Just as a reminder, 5k stories that are claimed are required to be completed by the end of the HetBang 2022, the last day of which is November 30th. If you are a 5k author that currently has an unclaimed summary and you’re worried about completing your work, email us and we can take your summary down, no problem!

And if you are a fanworker that would like to claim multiple of the remaining stories, just let us know how many of your choices you want.
Example:
First choice: #1 Title, Second choice: #2 Title, Third choice: #3 Title. Can take 2 stories.
This means we will give you 2 stories, out of whichever stories are remaining. Please reach out if you have any questions, we’re here to help!
