Hello everyone! The 5th and final check-in is now closed and posting has begun! We’re looking forward to seeing what everyone has been up to!

Date Claims are also officially closed, however, if you need to change your date, for any reason, please send an email to us at thehetbigbang@gmail.com, with the new date you’d like to post on. Just make sure to check the 2022 Posting Schedule, to find an open date!

Posting will run from October 16th through November 19th. November 20th-30th will be the Amnesty Period, which is for any author or fanworker to post their work, if they missed their posting date! Here are the 2022 Posting Guidelines.

Weekly Round Up will begin Sunday, October 23rd, and will take place each Sunday, with a list of works that have been posted for that week!

Do not post your work to the DreamWidth or LiveJournal comms! Posts are moderated on the comms and your post will be rejected. This is because mods are only checking the HetBang Ao3 Collection for works. We want there to be one centralized place to find works for everyone to enjoy!

Note About Support Comms: Mods will no longer be posting the weekly support posts in het_banghelp, to focus on posting, but members are still welcomed to make their own posts, if they need some extra help and support!

Mod LuciferxDamien will be out of town, October 19th-21st, so we will be down to one mod for a few days. If your work takes a day or two to be approved, don’t panic! It may not be because something is wrong, it’s likely because a mod is not available at that time. If there is something wrong with your work, you will be emailed ASAP, so you can correct it!

Hello everyone, this is a reminder for the fifth check-in for HetBang 2022! A big thank you to those that have already checked in! This check-in is mandatory, for both authors and fanworkers! If you do not check-in, you will be considered dropped from HetBang 2022, and there could be consequences if you were paired with an author (both 5k Little Bang and 10k Big Bang) or fanworker through the claiming process! If you need to drop out, please let us know ASAP! The survey will be open through Saturday, October 15th, and will be closed Sunday morning, October 16th.

You must fill out the survey, even if you or your group has already claimed a date! Filling out the survey helps mods to see where everyone is at and to make sure everyone is still here!

Fanworkers, if you claimed more than one story, please follow the instructions in the form to indicate your progress per author, so that we can match your progress to the correct author!

If you are a Solo Author or a Tandem Author/Fanworker, there are no consequences for dropping out. If you are an author (both 5k Little Bang and 10k Big Bang) or fanworker that has been paired up via claims, we're past the safe drop out point and dropping out can result in a ban from the next round of HetBang. However, if something major happens (sickness, injury, accident, etc.) please just let us know and there will be no consequences for dropping out. Anyone that doesn't contact us will be banned, as we won't know about a situation unless we're told.

The most important thing when filling out the survey is to make sure you use the same email address that was used in your sign-up, so that we can check you off. If you do not remember which email you used to sign-up, a copy of the Google Survey should have been sent to you when you signed up. If you still cannot find it, please contact us and we will check on our end!

If you have been paired with an author (both 5k Little Bang and 10k Big Bang) or fanworker via claims, and you have not reached out to us to let us know you need to drop out due to something major happening (sickness, injury, accident, etc.), you will be banned for one round.

Missing the next check-in will result in you being dropped from HetBang 2022, which can lead to a 1-round ban, if you’ve been paired with a fanworker or author! If you are a fanworker that has already made a claim during the initial round, you are free to claim as many stories as you want. We just ask that fanworkers do not take on more than they are reasonably certain they can finish by the end of the HetBang 2022!

This is our last non-mandatory check-in, so it's a good idea to take a look at the check-in survey, to see how the rest of the mandatory check-ins will be handled. The survey will be open Friday, July 1st through Saturday, July 9th, and be closed Sunday morning, July 10th.

This check-in is for authors only, so fanworkers, sit tight. The survey is to track story progress, but don’t stress out! Even if you haven’t started yet, please still fill out the survey, it really helps us know where everyone is at.

Rough Draft Submissions are now open! The last day to submit a rough draft is July 6th. Summaries will be posted July 8th, for fanworkers to peruse. We encourage everyone to keep writing during this process! If you’re wanting to opt-out of receiving an accompanying fanwork, feel free to use the check-in survey to let us know that!
