Admin Post
Aug. 17th, 2011 11:39 amIf you sent me an email for the wordcount check-in, you should have received some type of confirmation/response from me at this point. If you haven't, please contact me ASAP!
There's going to be a lot of admin posts coming in the future. I hope I don't get annoying with the spamming. Um, I feel like I should apologize for subjecting you guys to my organization, but dude, guys, THIS IS SO EXCITING!Or, y'know, terrifying. whatever.
First, Artists: Okay, the results are in! There are a total of 78 stories that require artists, and we have thus 54 artists signed up. If we could get about 24 more artists signed up, then we'd have one artist for every story! So, I know I'm sounding like a broken record here, but pimp it and sign up to be an artist! We are so close to our goal!
Artists, your time to shine is coming! Be prepared on August 20th for me to put up the Artist Claim page. You'll be provided with information regarding the fandom/pairing/story, and you select from that huge list of awesome. (And it is really awesome, omg.) First come, first serve! I'll wanna say I'll put it up at 12:01 am PST (think California time), but it'll probably be a little later as I've got party plans on Friday night and I don't know how long they'll run.
Second, Writers: Please remember if you haven't already, fill out the mandatory poll! If you don't check in, I basically consider you to have dropped out. (It's called "mandatory" for a reason!) I'll be updating the writer's list soonish with updated information, so let's not have people drop out unintentionally, all right? The poll will remain open until the close of August 19th.
Third, Group Chatting: There will be an optional group chat soonish for this bigbang. I will put up a poll probably tomorrow (I still have to figure out timezone issues, oy) with multiple options for (2) group chattings. One will be USA chat-times, and the other British(?) chat-times. (Unless anyone else has another suggestion?)
Fourth, Random Story of the Day or Previews?: Because we're likely gonna get a bucketload of awesome stories, I wanna make sure they all get their fifteen minutes of fame. Therefore, after Debut Date (Sept 30th! Mark your calendars!), I wanna assign one day to showcase off each finished story and their artworks. I can do this one of several ways: (1) I can post here about one to two random stories and their artworks every day, until we run through the entire selection. (Probably take about two months). The post will include meta info (Author, Fandom, Pairing, Summary, etc...). This options is called "Random Story of the Day." (2) Optional participation. I put up a sign-up sheet for dates (two months out), and authors/artists can grab spots and put up a small post pimping their own fanworks. They include meta info, and anything else they want to include: reviews, previews, DVD commentary, whatever. Authors and their artist(s) will have to work together to share the date, which will require some form of coordination, unless one person opts out or something. This option is called "Previews." I'll put up more guidelines later, if we go with this.
Those are your two options. What do you think? Suggestions welcome!
