REMINDER: Mandatory Check-In Coming July 15th

On July 15^th, we’ll be doing the Mandatory Check-in for the Het Big Bang. This is your official reminder that this is happening very soon, as well as a handy-dandy post to tell you what we need from you!

All writers must participate in this check-in, or they will be assumed to have dropped out of the challenge. Once posted, the check-in poll will remain open until July 18th. There will two mandatory parts for a Big Bang Participant (poll and email) and only one mandatory part for a Little Bang Participant (poll).

What you will need to do:
-answer the poll questions (which will be whether you’re doing a Little or Big Bang, both, etc)
-whether you are dropping out of the challenge or not
-your final decision on fandom and pairing (you cannot change your mind past this point)
-word progress (there is no requirement for what you have or have not done, we just want to know ;D)

Big Bang Participants: you will need to send the mods your check-in email. What this means is that you are attempting a fic greater than 25k and you can choose to receive an artist who will create artwork for your story. In order to receive art, you need to email the mods at thehetbigbang@gmail.com with THREE different snippets of your work, approximately 500-1000 words each. This is so that your artist may have something to work off of and be inspired by! Remember to send a separate email for each Big Bang that you signed up to do. So start thinking about what you’d like to submit!

If you would rather not have art made for you for any reason, please let the mods know so we can take you out of the claims list that will be posted once everyone has submitted their check-in information. If you’ve signed up to do a Little Bang only, you’ll skip this email (just complete the polling information).

Art claims will go up on July 20th, once we have received everyone's submissions. Please don't forget to get your stuff into us between July 15th to 18th! If for some reason you are absolutely unable to do the check-in at this time, please let us know as soon as possible (comment, email, PM) and we will work something out with you. :)

Finally, an important note about final fic submissions in August: extensions for final fic submissions will not be granted this year. We totally understand RL circumstances happen, we really do. But unfortunately, we have deadlines in place for a reason and extensions are unfair to everyone who completed them on time (also the mods just about melted down last year in the final days of the Bang due to trying to accomodate many people and we simply cannot do it that way again XD). You currently have LOTS of time to get your fics done, so don't worry!! But we wanted to put forth a friendly reminder well in advance that we will not accept submissions beyond August 26th (the submission deadline).

Now that all that housework is out of the way - how is everybody doing?? Don't forget to check the Support Comm regularly and participate in the various events we have going on!
