2017: Pinch Hit Artist Sign Ups

How does this work?
What's going to happen is that when we have artist drop out in August, we'll send out an email to the artists who are willing to pinch hit - the means creating art, probably fast or very fast, depending on how late the original dropped out. All the artists who are interested and wiling will quickly email back if they can take on the project - first come, first serve. They will receive the relevant information (snippets, author contact, etc).

What do I have to do for art?
Check the original Artist Sign Up post for all the information. If you are interested in pinch hitting, sign up on THIS POST.

What's the timeline like on these?
It will depend on when the original artist drops. For example, if they drop in early August, then you'll basically have the whole month. But if they drop at the end of August, you may only have a few days. While we are taking a hard stance on no extensions, the mods will work closely with our Amazing Pinch Hitting Artists to ensure the deadline is doable (ex. if we lose an artist on Submission Day, the mods will of course give the pinch hitter who scoops their fic a few days to complete the art.) We will talk timeline when (and if) we end up needing to send Pinch Hit art emails.

Sign ups for artists as well as this claim post will remain open until all fanfics get claimed! Get all your friends out to come take on some art! If you're willing to sign up as a Pinch Hit Artist, go here.

After you have claimed your story, you will receive an email from the mods with your writer's name & info, and the snippets they provided (it may not be immediate, but it should be within 24-48 hours). Authors: you will receive an email with your artist’s information once your fic has been claimed. Artists and authors are not required to chat, but it’s highly encouraged that you work with each other in whatever manner works for both of you. :)

What are the requirements for art?
You can make whatever kind of art you feel like, in whichever medium. Drawing, painting, digital, manips, vids, fanmix, fabric, mixed media, anything you can think of. We just ask that you put some time and genuine effort into it, as our authors have put major effort into their story. You are required to make a minimum of ONE piece of art for the story you claim. MORE IS BETTER. We love more! We want more! But, based on feedback from prior year’s artists, we only have a requirement of one piece of artwork.

Make it nice, put some serious effort into it! :)

CLAIMS:

For the first round of claims, please only choose ONE story to do. We will shortly open it up to a second round, where you may claim a second and third fic if you so wish. If you’re super ambitious and desperately want to do more than three, talk to the mods and/or leave a comment and we’ll see what we can do - you must complete what you claim, however, if at all possible. Trying to find back-up artists is a nightmare - please don’t make us do it. ;) And a reminder that no extensions will be granted. Artists, if you have the time, please consider also signing up to be a pinch hit artist in the event someone has to drop out last minute.
