het_bigbang 2012 will officially open for sign ups around May 1st. Unless I get an overwhelming negative reaction to the following poll, we will be hosting the final stories on AO3; the reason for this is: 1. It'll allow you guys to format your own fics and edit after the big bang goes live. 2. I can ensure no one releases their fics early, and it goes up simultaneously. 3. If we post fics on lj, it'll require multiple posts per fics, and organizing that for a single-moment reveal will be a headache. (Trust me on that.) Therefore, AO3 will be neat and simple. There will be plenty of time for those that do not have accounts on A03 to sign up.
The accompanying artwork, which is easier (since it'll likely be able to put up in one post for each artist), will be posted here or on the hbb_feedback comm. Unless there are objections to this? If so, drop a note here. ETA: Apparently, artwork as a standalone is accepted on A03 too. I was apparently confused about that.
Also, please note, I am going through the entire member's list for our support commhet_banghelp, and emptying out all participants because that list is last year's. When you sign up for this year, you can apply for membership again. I am thinking about limiting it to Authors and Artists only. Fill out the poll below so I can get your take. This comm was greatly, greatly helpful to a lot of people last year, but I'm always looking for ways to improve.
I am finalizing the rules soonish, before we officially open up sign ups. So if you've got anything to add, now's the time.
