Quick clarification

People have been confused about something.

Art and Fics Due - August 26th, 11:59 PM (Midnight) PST
Debut Date (DD) - August 31st, at noon PST.

You need to submit your fics to AO3 before midnight on the 26th, but you can still edit your fics after that. That's the beauty of doing it through A03. You can fix your mistakes, edit, add chapters, whatever you want. The fics only go live on August 31st. So, if you're freaking out about getting your fic completely shiny and polished, remember that you only have to submit a complete story by the 26th, but you can clean it to your heart's content until the 31st. (In fact, you can continue to clean it up after that, if you even wanted. But the bang will have already gone live, obviously.)

Hopefully this will calm people down a little?

How are people doing? Panicking? Complete?

I'm in full panic mode actually. I haven't been able to get an invite code as everyone I know that has them has told me the feature is disabled. Also, the fic isn't finished. :-O What should I do. I don't know that I can finish it in 3 days? *RUNS AROUND SCREAMING!!!!*

I'm doing a minibang and I have 7K plus written, but I've had massive writers block over the summer and according to the plot, I'm NOWHERE near done. D-: What happens if I can't get it finished? Can I post it as a part one and finish part 2 later? (OBVIOUSLY with a minimum of 10K or more completed).

It's actually really easy - I wasn't sure how it wouldn't be live, either. But if you follow the instructions in this post (http://het-bigbang.livejournal.com/39212.html) from Irony, that tells you how to post stuff to the collection, and as clarified in this post afterwards (http://het-bigbang.livejournal.com/39502.html), Irony had to tweak the settings of the collection, so everything only shows up as a "Mystery Work" right now and will be revealed later.

In your AO3 account after you follow the steps and hit "post", it'll tell you it's hidden until the challenge is complete. You can still edit it or do whatever as you would normally, but no one can see it but you. Make sense? (I just spent the evening figuring this out, heh).

Okay I was worrying.. so if I finish the fic but don't have it beta'd yet, I can post it by the 26th and then that gives the beta some time so I can just fix it up after that then? I'm not sure if I'll be finished by the 26th, i'm going to TRY, but I definitely won't be finished + beta'd by then.

Thank god. That makes me feel so much better. I've finished writing but I'm doing all that last minute editing and I was thinking that I was never going to get it done it time. But at least now I can post it and continue editing for a few days before it goes live :)

I've got over 100K words posted to AO3 already but it's another 25K and not done yet. Hopefully only another three big scenes but I've been trying to get my classroom ready the last few weeks (teacher) and haven't had as much time to devote to it. Maybe Sat. and Sun. will be free and clear and I can zip through the rest. Luckily I have been editing as I go and had a good portion already Beta'd. *keeps fingers crossed*

Here's my biggest problem: the stories are pretty much done but my beta reader seems to have dissapeared, which is what got me in panic mode. So I can post the stories tomorrow and then change whatever my beta reader says should be changed?

I was thinking of doing a vid but it's taking forever. I've slapped a banner and icon together so there would be something on AO3 at the deadline (with the hope I can fix the vid and edit it in), but I feel some bad about letting the author down.
