Het Big Bang Support Group

Now that we have the Official List of Authors for 2016 I wanted to send out a reminder that we still have the het_banghelp support group for authors, artists, beta readers, and cheerleaders to congregate and support each other as we work or way toward that ever-looming deadline. It's a members-only comm, f-locked to only those that have officially signed up as authors/artists and betas/cheerleaders, so you have to join it in order to participate. (We empty it out prior to each big bang.)

Last year we had special writing and enabling events, like Snippet Days and Block Writing events, and we'd like to continue in that tradition, but we need someone who can step up to the plate and take on that job. To quote irony_rocks from a prior year's rules of the comm:

The permanent schedule will be up shortly, but first, what I need is one special individual to step up to the plate, being ABSOLUTELY DILIGENT about following the scheduled (when it is established), and post these suckers up as the summer goes along. It is critical that this person be good with posting regularly and on time. I would appreciate the assist!

FWIW, you can schedule posts in advance! When you create a post, you just change the posting date at the top, and when you click "post," it sets it to post whenever you told it to go. We use that trick for mod posts all the time on het-reccers!

I thought you could only edit the date after you posted....! THIS IS GOOD INFORMATION (which you probably have told me before and I've completely forgotten about, tbh, LOL).

Nope, you can do it in advance! Piece of cake. Save yourself the trouble and just queue up as much shit in advance as you can.

That's a great feature, isn't it? :) I did that when I was posting those Random Stories of the Day entries last year. I did as many as I could in one sitting, then set each one up to post at a later date so that I didn't have to worry about finding time each and every day. Then did more whenever I was able to find time (or was getting close to a day I hadn't set up a post yet). It worked out great and made that job so much easier!

But I hadn't thought of that for these tasks, so thank you for reminding me!! :D You're the best!!

Oh, yeah, I love it. Makes it so easy to keep posts consistent and timely on LJ without having to actually remember.
